Let me Introduce you to our Favourite City in the World
When most travellers think of Africa, they imagine open grasslands dotted with herds of elephants, lions, zebra, and any other creature the lion king may have introduced us to. They’re not wrong; Africa is certainly best known for its safaris and the plethora of wildlife one can see whilst travelling through this unexpected continent. What most people don’t think of, which they should, is a journey to Africa and more specifically South Africa, can include so much more than lions stalking zebra on a safari.
Sitting at the bottom edge of Africa, there is a city that is gaining momentum on the “where to travel next” list. Constantly etching itself into its visitors’ favourite places travelled. This city has the rare combination of breathtaking natural beauty, stunning city lights, food to make you salivate, unique cultural experiences and a history that could fill a library of books. This city is Cape Town. Voted best city to visit in 2025 by Time Out magazine, Cape Town is a must for any traveller venturing onto the African continent.

The city has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for jaw dropping scenery whilst pushing your adrenaline limits, or a calmer approach to spectacular views, cultural tours; art galleries to entice your mind or laid back beach days on pristine beaches, you will find it. One of the things that surprises most people about Cape Town is its diversity - in all its forms; landscapes, experiences, wildlife, people, food, the list goes on.

Cape Town is home to many of the South African cultures, walking through the streets you’ll hear an array of accents and languages, not just South African, but from all over Africa and the world. So, if you’re looking for a single destination to get a feel of many of the African cultures, you’ll find it in Cape Town. A journey to Cape Town doesn’t just mean the city of Cape Town. Less than an hour away is the heart of the South African wine industry, where one can taste some of the best wines in the world, whilst enjoying some stunning landscapes. A little way up the east coast you can visit an area that is home to hundreds of Southern Right whales at certain times of the year. On the Southern tip of the peninsula you will find a nature reserve where the landscape feels somewhat lunar. Seaside suburbs that seem to have been inspired by Wes Anderson, perfect beaches to learn to surf, a penguin colony that melts the hearts of everyone who visits – the greater area of Cape Town is a traveller’s dream. In and around the city there is no shortage of experiences. Hike or cable car up the world-famous Table Mountain. Explore the colourful streets of the Bo-Kaap neighbourhood. Get a taste of African cuisine and history with a walking tour of the city. Dive into African art in a host of local galleries. Smell the flowers in the iconic Kirstenbosch botanical Gardens. Run, walk or cycle the Atlantic Seaboard promenade. Kayak with dolphins, explore the ocean on an ocean safari. There really is an endless list of activities to fill your days in this city.

Logistically it is a breeze. With direct flights from most major hubs in the world, one can start or end their African adventure in Cape Town. The city is home to multiple world class hotels, and travelling around the city is very easy with the help of local guides. A trip to Africa gets into a person’s heart, often resulting in annual pilgrimages back to our beautiful continent. Cape Town is one of those parts of Africa that sinks deep into your psyche, and the thought of not returning seems out of the question.
So do yourself a favour and visit this special piece of Africa, you won’t be disappointed.

Founder, Private Guide and Safari Planner
Being born the daughter of David Attenborough (it’s true but he’s probably not the one you’re thinking of) I don’t believe I ever really had much choice about what direction my life would take. I grew up in the city of Durban, South Africa but for as long as I can remember nature has called to me. Whenever I could I would escape to the forests around my home barefoot and in search of chameleons and red duiker to befriend.
And so in 2010, after completing my Journalism and Media Studies degree, I followed that calling to the wilds of Southern Africa to become a game ranger. I planned to stay for a year but it turned into ten. During that time, I worked at Phinda Private Game Reserve, Ngala Private Game Reserve and Londolozi Game Reserve, some of South Africa’s most prestigious lodges and immersed myself in the natural world. I learnt to track animals with Zulu and Shangaan trackers and spent as much time as I could on foot approaching animals with my guests. I also put my photojournalism degree to use by becoming a specialist photographic guide. I travelled to Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, India and throughout South America in search of wildlife. My greatest adventure was living in Gabon training local guides for the WWF and Smithsonian Institute, where we spent weeks at a time living like early nomads in the dense and remote coastal forests, fulfilling a life-long dream of tracking and habituating wild gorillas. Seeing how embodied and present animals are inspired me to begin practicing yoga. I am a qualified vinyasa and yin teacher and spent six months training under a Hatha master in Boulder, Colorado. I am also a certified Martha Beck life coach. With this mixture of knowledge, interests and skills, I started Wild Again to help others really experience the wild places I know and love so much. Through my specialised Wellness Safaris that incorporate yoga, meditation, mindfulness and personalised life coaching I continue to grow more conscious safaris that return people to nature and to themselves. As we re-wild ourselves we hear the earth, our common mother, again. It is only then that we can co-create with her healing.
